I've talked to Army guys who have had similar experiences....

Bouncing between a tour in Germany, to a tour in Korea (1ID), to a tour in Panama (no longer a base down there). Probably depends on their specialties. If you're up on the DMZ, you're in a war zone, so your pay is taxed accordingly.
